Kate Snyder is an experienced litigator with a diverse background spanning federal, state, and private practice. She brings a strategic, results-driven approach to her work, with experience handling complex matters across a wide range of legal areas, including criminal law, employment, domestic relations, and civil litigation.
Kate earned her undergraduate degree from Duquesne University and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law. During law school, she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law, Economics and Race and gained courtroom experience as a student prosecutor with the Cumberland County District Attorney’s Office, where she handled both juvenile and adult matters.
Following law school, Kate served as an Assistant State Attorney in Florida and later as a Senior Attorney with the Florida Department of Children and Families. She went on to serve as a federal prosecutor and agency counsel under the Department of Homeland Security, where she litigated cases at the trial, administrative, and appellate levels. Her work has included matters involving national security, constitutional claims, immigration, fraud, trafficking and exploitation, and defense of government entities and law enforcement.
In addition to her government service, Kate has experience in private practice handling complex litigation, and she has co-authored a book on public health and municipal responsibility. She has also provided training and instruction to law enforcement and attorneys as a subject matter expert.
Outside the office, Kate enjoys life on her Frederick County farmette and staying busy as a dedicated hockey mom.
