Mr. Prunka joins d|law as an experienced litigator with an extensive background in criminal and juvenile law. Mr. Prunka also practices family law and assists clients in estate planning.
Mr. Prunka graduated the University of Baltimore School of Law with a criminal practice concentration. During his tenure in law school, Mr. Prunka gained a wide variety of legal experience, interning at Dansie & Dansie, LLP in Washington, DC. He also served as a Rule 16 student prosecutor with the Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office, prosecuting criminal matters in District Court. He later worked as a clerk for Shadoan, Michael, & Wells LLP where he gained experience in state and federal civil litigation.
Mr. Prunka began his legal career in Frederick, serving as Assistant State’s Attorney for Frederick County. In his nearly 11 years as an Assistant State’s Attorney, he worked in the District Court, Child Support, and Juvenile divisions. He prosecuted crimes ranging from misdemeanors to major felonies. Mr. Prunka gained extensive litigation experience, trying nearly two dozen cases before juries. Before leaving the State’s Attorney’s Office, Mr. Prunka prosecuted juvenile, gang, and firearm offenses. Following his tenure as an Assistant State’s Attorney, Mr. Prunka joined a private practice in Rockville where he continued handling criminal and juvenile defense cases and expanded his practice areas to include family law and estate planning.
Mr. Prunka is excited to return “home” to the Frederick County legal community and is eager to begin representing clients in his capacity at d|law.
In his spare time, Mr. Prunka plays golf and enjoys travel and camping.
